Netflix’s global reach is larger than Spotify’s, with more emerging regions, and Netflix offers investors a point estimate as opposed to Spotify’s range estimates, the analyst said. Contxto — Just yesterday, Brazilian fintech Nubank revealed that NuConta cardholders can look forward to making monthly debit payments for streaming services beginning December 9. Meaning, if it’s time to cough up for your Netflix and Spotify Premium subscriptions, you’re in luck.

Originally, this service was only available for credit cardholders. Spotify on mac app store. Not anymore! Though still in its early stages, this new debit payment option will operate through the NuConta app.

While Nubank launched the NuConta debit card last year to select customers, now anybody can apply for one over the app. Seeing that cardholders will soon be able to maintain their Spotify and Netflix accounts through their NuConta balance, this is Nubank’s latest strategy to accommodate the evolving needs of their clients — and maybe even snatch up some new ones.

In accordance to reports, this is something that customers have previously requested Nubank to implement. While members of the NuCommunity test this novel feature, the app amenity will become available for the entire customer base beginning December 9.

According to an official Nubank statement, paying for streaming services will be available in the payment settings of the app. All customers must do is select the debit card as a payment method. Then, they can simply enter the physical card’s information into the system. And, voilà! Let the Netflix and chill or Spotify jam session commence.

To reiterate; users must have a balance in their NuConta accounts to process payments on the day of the payment. While credit payments have previously existed, debit functions are a novelty.

Not so Nu

In Brazil, banks such as Banco do Brasil, Itaú, Bradesco, Caixa, Santander, Banco Inter, Banco Original, and Sicredi already accepted debit card payments for Netflix subscriptions. For Spotify, Banco do Brasil, Bradesco, Next, Caixa, Santander, Banco Inter, Banco Original, and Sicredi also accept debit payments.

Sony has confirmed several entertainment apps which will be available on PlayStation 5 at launch.

Apple TV, Disney+, Netflix, Spotify, Twitch and YouTube will be available on day one, SIE’s head of partner development Phil Rosenberg said in a new blog post. Additional streaming apps coming to PS5 include Amazon Prime Video, MyCanal, Hulu, Peacock, and more, he said.

As detailed in a recent PS5 system menu reveal, streaming entertainment apps will have a dedicated space on the console’s home screen, and the apps themselves will no longer need to be downloaded via the PlayStation Store.

According to Rosenberg, creating dedicated Game and Media spaces for the PS5 user experience “will make it fast and easy to switch between gaming and entertainment content whenever you want.”

Players will also be able to control their music via the new Control Center menu, which appears over the top of gameplay when the PlayStation button is pressed.

At the launch of PS5, a new Media Remote will be available for navigating and controlling the entertainment experience on the console.

The PlayStation 5 release date is November 12 in the US, Japan, Canada, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand and South Korea. The rest of the world will get the console a week later on November 19.

PS5 is priced at $500/€500/£450 for the standard edition and $400/€400/£360 for the Digital Edition, with the only difference between them being the former’s inclusion of a disc drive.
